Rebecca Newby

Community Engagement Associate

Rebecca Newby is thrilled to be a part of The Reform Alliance as a Community Engagement Associate because she will be able to help parents organize, strategize, and ultimately make the changes they believe are necessary to best meet the needs of their children. She understands that in order to close the achievement gap, we must offer more opportunities.
After a rough start in the ninth grade, Rebecca went on to attend five high schools in four years, and ultimately graduated from Pine Bluff High in 2013. She then attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in English Education. After taking two years to adjust to a new career, Rebecca enrolled in grad school at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and graduated in 2021 with a Masters of Education in Educational Equity. She is looking forward to putting her experience from working in the K-12 system and her master’s degree to good use. She currently resides in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she was born and raised, with her 6-year-old daughter, Jada.
Rebecca is a change agent dedicated to meeting the needs and empowering the people; after four years of teaching, she is excited to be able to serve Arkansas communities to be a bridge to a brighter future full of educational opportunities.
