The Basics: Succeed Scholarship Program
-Ensuring every child is within reach of success.-
The Arkansas General Assembly passed the Succeed Scholarship Program in the 2015 Legislative Session. This program allows a public school student with special needs to apply for up to $6,713 in scholarship funds for the 2017-2018 school year to attend a private school that may be more suited to meet the student’s needs. A flyer with additional information on the program is available here. Or, you can read more about the passage of funding for the Succeed Scholarship from Excel in Ed here. Applications for both private schools and students interested in the program are now open!
Who is eligible?
A student is eligible for the Succeed Scholarship Program if the student:
Is currently enrolled in a public school district and has been for at least one full school year (unless the student is the child of an active duty service member or has a signed waiver form from their resident school district Superintendent),
Has an individualized education program (IEP), and
Has been accepted for admission to an eligible private school
What does it do?
Provides up to the maximum per student funding amount for eligible students to attend an approved private school that will meet the needs of the student.
How do I apply?
It’s EASY! You can submit the student application (below) and return it to The Reform Alliance and we will take it from there! You will also need to include the two signed waivers (you can find them at the back of the application), proof of an IEP, proof of private school acceptance and either proof of public school attendance or a signed Superintendent waiver. Feel free to call our office if you have any questions!
For Private Schools:
The bill itself with all of the Rules and Language, that can fully explain the conditions of the program can be found here: House Bill 1552. If you have any questions about the program or would like more information, please contact our office at info@thereformalliance.org. We would be happy to help you fill out an application.
